Africa is pointed out as a region where the problem is highly prevalent. There were individual studies on the recovery rate and its determinants among children with severe acute malnutrition in Ethiopia. But, there is no national pooled estimate. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to estimate the recovery.

      The College went on to play a significant role in improving public health in the Gondar region and become the country’s oldest and most influential medical training institution which, in , evolved into College of Medical and Health Sciences and continued to provide its services to the community and the country at large. Globally, an estimated billion people lack access to improved sanitation which is more than 35% of the world’s population and about 1billion people, 15% of the world population do not have access to any kind of sanitation facility and exercise open defecation. A total of 16% of population living in urban Ethiopia do not have access to any kind of sanitation facility and exercise open.

Early health care seeking behavior of mothers has a potential to reduce child mortality particularly in developing countries like Ethiopia.

However, different studies showed that mothers health care seeking behavior for common childhood illness are influenced by socio-demographic and cultural, educational factors. On the contrary, the finding was high compared to the National EDHS report (%, ), ANC coverage in Addis Ababa (%, ), Debre Berhan (%, ), Hadiya Zone (%, ), and (%, ) Yem Southern Ethiopia [15, 16, 30–32].
