The process was complicated, involving pro-vincial, state, tribal, industry and environmental interests. On Jthe United States and Canada formally signed the Agreement on Pacific Salmon.
Terms of the agreement are discussed below. The Agreement was reached within the framework of the Pacific Salmon Treaty Act of (P.L. 99.
